Paddling on the Telemark Canal is a fascinating experience. In a canoe or a kayak you may come close to the local animals, and you get a different feel for the nature and the landscape. You may of course also combine with the canal boats.
On bike along the Telemark Canal
There are many marked bike routes along the Telemark Canal. They offer easy as well as challenging riding in spectacular nature and are recognized as National Bike Route. The biking experience may also be combined with the canal boats.
Some stretches along the Telemark Canal are known for fantastic hiking routes. The most spectacular is Lårdalstigen from Dalen to Lårdal, also known as “Tougher than Besseggen”.
Fishing along the Telemark Canal
The fishing is good in the Telemark Canal and the rivers connected to it. Trout, perch and char are among the species you may catch.
